Last night I attended a meeting for the Special Olympics of Berks County. I did not know anyone when I arrived , other then my new facebook friend Heather who contacted me to take part in this meeting so I could share my thoughts on a fundraiser for the Special Olympics which I knew very little about. It didn't take long before my enthusiasm was brought to life with an incredible group of parents, athletes,
volunteers and coaches who made me feel like a part of the group. Thanks Carrie!
HOW DID I GET INVOLVED?
The Reading Express Indoor football league has asked me to be an honorary member of the smokin hot steam team, (go ahead .....laugh now) they have changed the direction around a bit this year having each young lady be a part of public events with a sporty football style uniform....*yes, I have been fitted for mine*
All of the ladies have chosen a charity to represent, I have chosen SPECIAL OLYMPICS OF BERKS COUNTY in hopes of getting enough votes from you, to become Ambassador of the Year and reap the cash donation to be given to Special Olympics of Berks County.

Of all the charities I have donated my time and efforts....Juvenile Diabetes, Make a Wish Foundation, Easter Seals, March Of Dimes, American Cancer Society, Autism Awareness, Greater Berks Food bank, Olivet Boys and Girls Club, Toys For Tots, and more, I have found that this will be the most rewarding of all. I am very excited to get going and YOU get to help!!!

****SUNDAY May 15th Reading Express Football game......Make your donation that night and if we raise X amount of dollars I will be doing a round off, and straddle during halftime :)
WHAT I DIDNT KNOW:
Their athletes range in age from 8 to adult, which I didn't know! They participate in local, state, and international games through-out the year. Their program receives no government funding. Solely on donations from the community and fundraising.
